Watch Design [Race Against time]

Watch Makeover

Through the development of this project, students understand:

• specifications of a clean room structure of a clean room
• special elements of interior design (such as round corners)
• ventilation and exhaust system
• transportation method of goods in and out of the clean room

Building a Drift Trike 

The origins of Drift Trikes come from California, USA. Drift Trikes are tricycles with low traction rear wheels that are designed to drift by intentionally initiating loss of traction to the rear wheels and counter steering to negotiate corners.

About the Project

• Step 1 Discuss and search information
• Step 2 Draft Drift Trike sketches
• Step 3 Draw the Drift Trike using CAD software
• Step 4 Prepare required materials and assemble the parts

Gerontechnology is an emerging topic in Hong Kong.  To help elderly live better and smarter, students use their knowledge and skills to create a Smart Shopping Cart to:

• Help elderly to solve their daily life problem
• Promote the use of technologies for the elderly
• Contribute to smart city and smart living in Hong Kong 

Harbour Eco-land “The Whale” 

The public recreation area can provide space for people to :

• Take Rest
• Gather
• Learn
• Train 

The eco-area can provide a simulated environment for the flora and fauna which helps biodiversity conservation planning. 

Students work collaboratively to create an exhibition design proposal based on a selected theme.

THEME: VTC Exhibition Booth Design 

In this project, students work in groups to:

• Create a project plan with mood board presentations
• Apply conceptual spatial skills for the design
• Use professional software such as AutoCAD / Sketch-up to render images to visualize the space
• Present the spatial design by making the floor plan, renderings and scale models

Students work collaboratively to create an exhibition design proposal based on a selected theme.

THEME: VTC Exhibition Booth Design

THEME:  Public Housing Design 

In this project, students work in groups to:

• Create a project plan with mood board presentations
• Apply conceptual spatial skills for the design
• Use professional software such as AutoCAD / Sketch-up to render images to visualize the space
• Present the spatial design by making the floor plan, renderings and scale models

The industry partners of VTC have reached out to YC to invite some students to design a one-week image proposal for their clients. As one of the styling teams, students will design a 1-week proposal based on users' backgrounds and needs. Through the project, students show their professional knowledge and skills.  

First, students conduct market research or surveys to gather information on clients' fashion tastes, lifestyle, and budget. Then they tailor made a proposal to clients' specific needs and preferences. They included a range of looks for different occasions (casual, formal, business attire). Makeup and hairstyle options were also suggested based on clients' skin tone, hair type, and personal style. Finally, a complete image solution that aligns with clients' preferences and needs was presented.
