Building a Drift Trike
The origins of Drift Trikes come from California, USA. Drift Trikes are tricycles with low traction rear wheels that are designed to drift by intentionally initiating loss of traction to the rear wheels and counter steering to negotiate corners.
About the Project
Gerontechnology is an emerging topic in Hong Kong. To help elderly live better and smarter, students use their knowledge and skills to create a Smart Shopping Cart to:
Harbour Eco-land “The Whale”
The public recreation area can provide space for people to :
The eco-area can provide a simulated environment for the flora and fauna which helps biodiversity conservation planning.
The aim of the project is to select a suitable display for the lifts in the Youth College campus through:
Drones have been widely used for tunnel inspections. The teaching team conducted a demonstration of using drone for lift inspection and has been actively discussing the feasibility of using drones for elevator inspections with industry partners, including CAPAX, EMSD, OTG, and others.
About Our Game Design Project
Using the latest Unreal Engine 5, we create a new game with different effect blueprints. With a smarter AI system and the latest ray tracing, the motion system of Unreal Engine 5 is optimized. Taking advantage of the new technology, we create an infinite mowing mode with a sense of layering in which the NPC will continue to evolve over time, increasing the difficulty and the challenge as well as level of entertainment.
About the Game
There is an outbreak of zombie virus outbreak in the future (2050s). It spreads across the globe. The government entrusts the characters to fight against the zombies and evil societies. The character will take the only flight to “City Spirit” to save the city. The mission of the character is to find the serum to restitute the city.
This project has developed an Anchor-based MR platform to demonstrate the feasibility of mapping physical objects into the virtual world. This platform offers precise and scalable interactions between the MR system and physical objects. Additionally, the platform is flexible and extensible, making it easy to develop MR applications in the future.
The platform is built on VIVE Pro and Unity, with laser-guided trackers incorporated to retrieve precise positions of physical objects, enabling players to have an immersive MR experience. Players can control a mobile vessel as a human analog to interact with the physical world, while a 360° camera installed on it provides a visual view of the vessel. Moreover, the platform has the capability to connect more than two players into the same virtual world through network connection.
