The eco-area can provide a simulated environment for the flora and fauna which helps biodiversity conservation planning. 

PROJECT BACKGROUND

In Hong Kong, several grassroots elements, including streets, places, and landscapes, are being demolished. The city's buildings and landscapes are now expected to be modern, high-end, middle-class, bright, tidy, and new. As a result, the street culture that was developed by absorbing the local environment and people has slowly vanished from the old streets and districts of the city, leading to the erasure of Hong Kong's citizens' most authentic urban memories. The old markets serve as a prime example of this loss.To capture the essence of Hong Kong's old markets, a considerable amount of time was spent on collecting data and I have decided to showcase it through four tunnel books, along with lights and sounds.

PROJECT BACKGROUND

The term "Attosecond" refers to an extremely short, momentary event, reminding us to seize the best moments of life before they slip away. Life is beautiful but short. To document every moment of growth, this clock features an unconventional way of displaying time while also accommodating small houseplants inside. This integration embodies the essence of 'carpe diem,' encouraging us to make the most of our time and appreciate the fleeting beauty of life.

This project won Merit Award (Student Group) in the 39th HK Watch & Clock Design Competition.

The Youth College collaborates with The Salvation Army to promote the concept of intergenerational inclusiveness in the community. Students utilize their knowledge of fashion design and beauty makeup to create stylish images for 15 seniors aged 45 to 85. The elderly are transformed into fashion models, strutting down the runway in specially designed eco-fashion outfits during the 85th Anniversary Celebration of the Central Market. They radiate energy and grace. The students from the Youth College become a bridge connecting the community and the elderly in this project.

DVE (fashion) students utilize unused fabrics collected from The Salvation Army and the fashion industry to upcycle and transform them into fashionable and modern Japanese-style denim jackets.

DVE (Beauty Care) students are responsible for designing hairstyles and makeup, working together to create unique looks for the senior models.

The Youth College collaborates with The Salvation Army to promote an upcycling program for unused fabrics. Over 60 students from the Youth College's DVE (Fashion) utilize brand new unwanted clothing collected by The Salvation Army to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship by designing and sewing unique, fashionable, and environmentally friendly bags. This program not only promotes environmental sustainability and serves the community but also allows students to explore and pursue their personal interests while putting their learning into practice.

In the role of an assistant to a building services consultant, students draft the design of the following facilities for an office using professional software, adopting industry standards: 

1. Air conditioning system 

2. Fire system (including sprinklers, emergency lighting system, fire extinguisher) 

3. Electric system (including lighting, MCB, sockets) 

4. Intelligent services (e.g. fingerprint identification access control system, remote control system linked with light system, window and aircon) 

Besides learning how to organize an event, students get the chance to take part in different roles in an event. Photo and video shooting team was responsible for the following tasks: 

Before the event: 

1. Product shooting 

2. Product video editing 

During the event: 

1. Interview guests, organizers and exhibitors 

2. Take event snap shots and group photos 

Post event: 

1. Edit interview videos 

2. Edit event video 

This jewellery collection brings together the art of jewellery and the essence of traditional Chinese culture, such as wedding gowns, Chinese opera costumes and Chinese musical instruments. The collection leads the younger generation to appreciate the beauty of Chinese culture and traditional jewellery craftmanship.
