Programme Introduction
Diploma of Vocational Education (Watch and Clock)

This programme aims to help students to develop professional skills, through a balanced curriculum with generic and vocational knowledge and skills, and structured whole person development competencies in a specific trade, so as to well equip them with vocational skills in the watch and clock industry.  Watch design, manufacture and maintenance consist of state-of-the-art technology and craftsmanship.  Both manufacturers and dealers of famous watch brands require their employees to receive a formal training prior to maintenance jobs in the service centres.  Graduates may choose to seek employment or pursue further studies.  Graduates may be employed as watchmaker trainees, assistant engineers, technician trainees, watch designer trainees, watch maintenance trainees, sales and merchandising assistants, trading assistants, assistant quality control officers or technician apprentices etc.  They may work in the areas of watch design and development, sales and marketing, production management, watch product testing, project management, watch merchandising and watch maintenance, etc.  Students can participate in The Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Ltd. – Dr. Samson Sun Scholarship, which offers the opportunity to study in Switzerland for a short-term study or to pursue a higher diploma course in watch and clock related fields.
